Board Member . . .
Dorothy Ealy is the West Area Director for MEA and currently serves on the NEA Election Committee. She currently serves as the guidance counselor for John P. Freeman. Ms. Ealy has 31 years experience as a classroom teacher and 7 years experience as a counselor. She has been a member of MEA for 38 years. Ms. Ealy has a Bachelor's degree from Lane College and a Masters + 45 in Guidance and Personnel Services from The University of Memphis. Ms. Ealy has served as West Area Director, Secretary of MEA and as a liaison for the Professional Rights & Responsibilities (PR & R) Committee. She has served as Chairperson of Minority Affairs Committee and is an Association Representative. In addition, she is a member of the TEA Minority Affairs Committee and the TEA Member Benefits Committee. She has also been selected as a delegate to the NEA-RA. Ms. Ealy has been given the Distinguished Educator Award from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and is a member of the National Council of Negro Women. Ms. Ealy's educational experience as well as her varied responsibilities have prepared her for the leadership role as a member of the MEA Board of Directors.
