Clara Ford

Clara Ford is currently serving as the East Area Director of MEA and has been an member of the Association for 40 years.  She is the Media Specialist at Kirby High school.

Ms. Ford has a Bachelor of Science Education degree from Mississippi Industrial College and a Masters degree in Library Science University of Mississippi.  She has completed 30 hours of post-graduate hours from the University of Memphis.

Ms. Ford has been an MEA Representative for several years and serves on the Professional Rights and Responsibilities (PR & R), National Teacher Day Committee and the Bargaining Committee.  She also serves on the TEA Election Committee.

Ms. Ford has been a TEA-RA delegate12 times and has been a NEA-RA delegate 6 times.  Ms. Ford has received the Career Ladder II Teacher designation and received the Phi Delta Kappa Inductee award.  She also has received the MEA Crystal Apple Award for being a top membership recruiter.  She is a lifetime member of the NAACP, a volunteer for March of Dimes, American Cancer Society and Heart Fund.  Additionally, she has received the Literacy Institue Award, NASA Lunar Aerospace Education Award, and the Walsworth Superior Performance Award.  Ms. Ford is president of her national alumni association, and serves on her school's leadership council.  She also serves on the MCS Blue Ribbon Oversight Committee and is a teacher mentor for MCS.
