Rose Mary Winters a Special Education teacher at Ford Road Elementary 4th, 5th and 6th grades.
She has 11 years teaching experience and 5 years as a MEA member.
Ms. Winters earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Bethune Cookman College in Florida, Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from the University of Memphis. Certificate of completion as Reading Laureate from University of Memphis.
She served on the M-PACE Council for a 2 year term, Election Committee, Minority Affairs, Co-Chairperson of the Human Relations Committee and a Political Action Volunteer.
She served on Negotiation Committee 2009-2011, New Teacher Committee, Presenter for the "I can do it " Classroom management workshop.
She has attended the TEA RA 2 times and NEA-RA 1 time.
She attended the Campaign to Win leadership class in Detroit, MI, Minority Affairs leadership in Charlotte, NC.
She a member of the Women Caucus and a member of the Black Caucus.
Ms. Winters was a recipient of The 2007-2008 Susan B. Anthony, Presenter for Crisis Prevention Intervention Program for Memphis City Schools.
My goal and mission as a Board of Director is to be fully dedicated by helping children reach their full potentials in education. My philosophy is I don't simply teach the content subjects, I teach students socially, mentally, and academically. I believe the school, parents, and community should share the responsibility for providing a positive school environment. Additionally, I believe in diversity among all people. Lastly, I'm willing to help others to achieve their goals in life to become successful citizens in a global society.
