The teacher transfer period is open February 17 and will close May 1. All eligible teachers will be able to apply for open positions during this time. However, all teachers must create a new transfer application. You may go to the Shelby County Schools website at www.scsk12.org and click on the careers tab. Then follow the directions for teacher transfer. You can also visit the Teach Memphis website at www.teachmemphis.org for more information. You should check the list of available positions frequently as new positions will be posted as they become available through May 1.
Due to the efforts of M-SCEA, the Shelby County Schools has extended the notification deadline for advanced degree compensation to November 15. This applies only to teachers hired prior to Aug. 2, 2013 who obtained an advanced degree before Aug. 1, 2013. A district notification was sent to all teachers on Tuesday, 10/22 with this updated information. Salary adjustments for advanced degrees will be granted upon receipt of all required documentation outlined in the Salary Adjustment Application attached to the district notification. This includes an official degree transcript with conferment date and correspondence from the TN Department of Education reflecting the degree. All documentation must be received in the Dept. of Compensation at the Board (Rm. 120) by November 15, 2013. For more information, contact the Department of Compensation at 416-2832 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
