To join, click on the link to the left for a membership form. Or, you can contact your building level Association Representative (AR) to request a form. And as always, you can stop by our offices at 126 Flicker Street at Avery Avenue to pick up a form. Simply complete the information on the membership application and return it to MEA via Board mail (Rt. 1), return it to you AR, or drop it by the MEA office.

Your professional organization, The Memphis Education Association, is more than 5,000 members strong. Together with the Tennessee Education Association and the National Education Association, we represent more than 3.2 million educators worldwide. MEA is the largest teacher association in the state of Tennessee and one of the 20 largest Associations in the nation.

The Memphis Education Association is the professional organization that represents school employees, including principals, teachers, mental health professionals and most education suppport professionals (ESPs). MEA promotes professional excellence for its members and high quality instruction for students. Local association leaders and UniServ Directors are available throughout the year to assist members and potential members with their concerns. Members receive additional benefits including discounts, direct and more extensive legal support and leadership opportunities that potential members do not receive. MEA offers monthly meetings and workshops to keep its members informed of current issues related to the education profession.
