Tax time is just around the corner!  Your MEA dues are tax deductible if you itemize.  The amount for 2012 is:  $651.   

MEA is looking for teachers who are interested in serving on one of the existing Teacher Effectiveness Initiative (TEI) work groups. 

PECCA Vote Results In Victory For Teachers!

We did it! The vote to establish Collaborative Conferencing was approved overwhelmingly! 96% of those voting said yes to Collaborative Conferencing and 91% voted for MEA/SCEA to represent them! Voter turnout was 67% or 6,726 teachers in Memphis and Shelby County. Thank you for taking the time to vote and thank you for selecting MEA/SCEA as your representative! Voting for Collaborative Conferencing means teachers will have input to their working conditions. Again, thank you for your support. We take your selection to represent you very seriously, and we assure you that we will continue to do the very best we can to protect your interests as professional educators.
