State Legislators

The Tennessee General Assembly meets in Nashville each year beginning on the second Tuesday of January. Generally, legislative sessions last from mid-January through late April or May of each year.

The functions of the Legislature are to enact, amend, and repeal the laws of Tennessee. Many of the decisions made by the State Legislature directly affect the way schools are run! It`s important to contact your legislators regarding issues that are important to you.
